Young Surfer, Venice, CA. This portrait is very much like Venice itself, everything is improvised, a little run down but very energetic, like the boy’s home made wood plank board (it cracked) or the wetsuit that was way too large for the kid.

A perfect day in Venice? Waking up on a Saturday, munching a super-crojo at Flake on Rose Ave for breakfast, taking the car up to Malibu Creek Canyon and taking a photo hike to Malibu Rock Lake.
If someone was visiting, what must they do? Exactly that.
A perfect meal in Venice? The cheeseburger at Hinanos, a beachy dive bar, very basic but incredibly tasty. Best served with crazy iced glass of Coke.
