Global Yodel contributor, photographer, and musician Stevie Dacanay has just finished his debut photo book. And a great one it is! Stevie was kind enough to give us a few copies of his photo book, Everything This Way, to giveaway. – Thanks Stevie! – I love his work and think he is creating some very cool stuff.
The book will be available in March exclusively at Collete (Paris) and 25 Books (Berlin). There will also be a few copies available on Stevie’s website! But act quickly as this is a limited edition of 100 and is going fast.
There is a forward in the book that sums it up nicely: ”This book is an observational narrative built from endless journeys on the road. But there isn’t a single hackneyed cliche. There’s homages to Diane Arbus in Stevie’s portraits of quirky characters that give them depth and humanity. There are wry comments on culture in his still lifes, landscapes and snapshots, some of which allude to art that has come before, such as the storied scenes by O. Winston Link or the deadpan paeans to form and structure by Ed Ruscha that elevate the everyday object. All I have to say is Bravo.”

I absolutely love Stevie’s work. His way of capturing the life on the road is quite unique, because he isn’t symply just a photographer being with the band, he IS part of the band and that’s what gives hime a special eye !

Black & White, Sometimes Inverted, Huge crowd, Fanatics and the overall energy the emanates from this book. I love it all.
His photos are like photographed memories. Little slices of memories you see once and remember hazily. It’s like looking into a dream.

The cool thing about Stevie D. is that he is exceptionally talented on two opposite sides of the art spectrum: One is music – the most auditory art can be. The other is photography, the most visual art can be. Many people would kill for *one* of these talents, and Stevie D has them both. This book would be an awesome piece of memorabilia to any fan of Stevie D…like myself.
