HOOSIER CHAMPION

Indianapolis is the capitol of Indiana, as well as “The Amateur Sports Capitol of the World” and “The Racing Capitol of the World” due to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway which is the largest sporting facility in the world. This collage is inspired by the competitive spirit of the city and created from photos I shot of a dilapidated Champion spark plugs sign, vintage Corvette badge and a Hoosier Racing Tire. (Hoosier is the nickname for a person from Indiana)

Name: Eric Kass

Place you live: Indianapolis, Indiana U.S.A

Place your postcard is designed for: Indianapolis, Indiana U.S.A

Preoccupation: Contradictions

A perfect day in Indianapolis? Relaxing autumn afternoon spent in Holliday Park eyes closed sun blushing cheeks while crisp breezes rustle leaves with the sound of a coastal surf.

If someone was visiting what must they do? Enjoy an enormous Spaten Optimator in the Rathskeller beer garden at the 19th century Athenaeum Building downtown.

A perfect meal? A giant breaded tenderloin sandwich served in any local tavern.

A little known fact? Elvis Presley’s last concert was in Indianapolis on June 26th, 1977 at Market Square Arena which has been demolished.

    :::::NICE::::::

  1. Very cool! Although you gotta have pretty good hearing to hear the surf from Indianapolis, right??

  2. * thanks! the rustling leaves sound like an ocean surf – just wishful imagining from a landlocked midwesterner//
