Pretty Sweet – a signed limited edition photo book by Krzysztof Pacholak.
Global Yodel contributor Krzysztof from Poland sent in a copy of his new book to give away. This book is a glance into what life is like in Northwest Poland. Pretty Sweet is a sweet little 44 page book that takes a beautiful look into a small Polish village.
Here is what Krzysztof says about the book on the first page.
In the community center you can play table soccer or ping pong. In the evenings, adults come and barbecue. Sausages with mustard are real goody.
By day you play football, volleyball or swim in the lake. Neighbours just bought a new quad bike and they allow taking a short ride sometimes.
There’s a hung club in the nearby village. Whiskered men come from all over the world. They go hunting early in the mornings. In the evenings they drink beer. Or something stronger.
Its cool, because there’s no school and you don’t need to get up early. Mateusz’s father is a beekeeper. He lets us try the fresh honey just from the beehive.
Mosquitoes bite. It’s hot. There’s gonna be a storm in the evening. Tomorrow we’re going to ride a bike.

Dear Krzysztof, The photographs look beautiful. I like how the subjects are confident and comfortable. It is so much fun to see the similarities and differences from specific places all over the world. It is a great strength to the work and Global Yodel. Best, Tammy.
I love your Unfinished country and School projects. I must admit that your interrior photos enchant me a lot!
But Pretty sweet fabulously combines such photography with those showing people.Naturalness, simplicity and emotions they point out just amaze me! These people are real, the places are real… Congratulations!
Hello Krzysztof!
I absolutely love your style of portraiture. These people feel so personable, like this is a village I would, and do, call home. I admire the relationship that I can sense you have with this place and these people. They are comfortable with you, and you are comfortable with them. They display a sense of pride, and I too, feel prideful when I view them. This is a wonderful body of work.
Very well done!
-Jessie
