We are giving away two books from Global Yodel contributor Tammy Mercure. Tammy is creating a book a month for 2012. Each hand-bound 5.5″ x 7.75″ book is on a single topic and contains 10 images with a letterpressed cover in a signed edition of 30. The topics of books we are giving away are Elvis & coonhounds. They are available on her website for purchase.
Who wants them? All you have to do to win the books is leave a comment for Tammy below this post. Tammy lives in Bristol Tennessee, where she is an Assistant Professor of Photography at King College. I love Tammy’s photos…stumbled upon her through tumblr and am always amazed by her interesting portraits and the sense of humor that always comes through! I think she must be terribly brave to take pictures of some of these people! Rock on Tammy.
I grew up in Bristol, and moved away a long time ago. I follow Tammy’s work on Tumbler, and really don’t know that much about her, but wow, great photos. I would love to hear her ask those folks to let her take a picture. She is capturing their spirit, and preserving their humanity. And showing some wonderfully tacky NASCAR shirts. Keep up the good work!
