Oakville Arena in Oakville, Ontario, Canada
This photo is taken from within the Oakville arena after my son’s hockey practice on a snowy winter day. Like much of Canada, Oakville is a town that loves recreation and of course, hockey. I liked the way this old window framed the row houses across the street. The Oakville Arena is 65 years old and rich with hockey nostalgia and history, like much of Oakville.

What I love about the town of Oakville is the quaint and historical feel of the downtown core with its picturesque harbours, vibrant shops, an active arts community and some of the best dining options in the Greater Toronto Area. It sits next to Lake Ontario which provides many parks and romantic winding paths along its shores.
Waking up early to see the sunrise over Lake Ontario at Coronation Park. Then heading downtown for breakfast at the Crepe Kitchen followed by a stroll and some shopping along the strip. Some live music in the evenings… somewhere outdoors if it’s summer!
Its proximity to downtown Toronto and the shores of Lake Ontario.
