A Guide to Dublin with Bry in Dublin, Ireland
According to Bry, Dublin may be too rainy but the people are friendly. And it’s friendly people on whom Bry relies on. This singer-songwriter has a large online fanbase that knew him through his Youtube videos long before they were able to see him on tour. It was just a few years ago when Bry would book his own shows, spread the word through social media and wait to see who would show up. With his passion for music, performing and traveling (he’s been to over 60 countries), Bry’s goal is to reach as many of his fans as possible, no matter in which corner of the world they may be. Read on to learn about Bry’s favorite way to explore a new city and how the novelty of touring and connecting with fans has yet to wear off.

What is the best thing about Dublin? The people. I love talking to strangers and Dublin is great for it. The people are weird and wonderful.
What is the worst? Weather. On a sunny day you’ll find me strutting down the streets with open arms, ready to embrace everyone. But it’s always raining in Dublin, and I hate rain. On rainy days I don’t want to talk to anyone.
If your city was a person or character who would it be? Harry Potter. Handsome, fun and friendly but always manages to get itself into trouble.
What inspires your songwriting? Most of my songs are about either my wife or my best friend. I haven’t got to that point in my career where I write about world peace and politics. I hope I never get to that point.
What’s your favorite way to interact with fans, before, during and after the show? I like to meet every single person after the show. My band starts packing up and loading the van while I do this. Sometimes it takes a few hours. I just hate the idea of someone coming to see me play and me not getting a chance to thank them.
What has surprised you the most about touring? Every time an audience sings along to my songs I still feel a bit weird. It’s lovely though. I have the Internet to thank.

If you could tour with any band or artist from any time in history, who would it be? I’d love to go on tour with The Killers and just join the front row every night for their performance. I love them.
What’s the strangest thing that’s happened to you while touring? I thought it’d be a great idea to buy lots of footballs and throw them into the audience one night. One ball hit a girl right in the face and she had to be taken out of the crowd. Never again.
What is the most useful career advice you’ve received? “Don’t give up. You never know how close you are to succeeding so just keep going.”
Do you have any pre-show rituals? I have a hot honey and lemon drink, warm up my voice and then do a little three minute dance to get the awkwardness out of my body.
How do you get oriented in a new city? I like to get myself lost in each new city and turn off my phone so I have no help in trying to find my way back. I was lost in New York for three hours once.
Which bands/artists are you listening to these days? I’m loving twenty one pilots, The 1975, and Catfish and The Bottlemen.
