This is a series of photographs from around Barcelona and the surrounding areas including, of course, the cities most famous landmark Sagrada Familia from several vista points.

Don’t think of Barcelona as Spain, the cultural and economic capital of Catalonia is rich in language, customs, and landscape unique from any other part of the country it sits in or the continent for that matter. Art, food, architecture, sports, you name it and Barcelona delivers and the city along with the people have the ability of capturing the heart of many, including mine.

For me the perfect day in Barcelona would start with a quick trip to one of the many open air markets (la Boqueria being the most famous) to grab a quick breakfast and lunch for later in the day. Then I’d head to one of the cities many beaches to enjoy a true mediterranean summer day. After a day of sun, food, and sangria by the water I’d head home for a siesta before cleaning up and heading to my favorite place in the city. “The Bunkers” sit just above Parc Guinardo and provide the best views of Barcelona. There’s no better place to eat, drink, and enjoy the company of friends while watching the sun set over the Mediterranean.

Pickpockets

Although Barcelona is a large city, it is densely populated and very walkable. If the weather is nice, skip the metro and see the city on foot, there’s no better way to truly learn the landscape.
