The Horse Project in Portland, Oregon, USA
This is one of my favorite Portland quirks: the tiny toy horses that are tied to old historic hitching posts around the city that are cemented into the curb. Portland is a working-man’s city turned creative paradise for hip makers. Cheap enough to provide “quality of life” and close to the outdoors, it boasts lots of live music, good food, art, coffee, and unique characters. The town’s alternative motto is “Keep Portland Weird”.
Breakfast at Sweedeedee, hike in Forest Park, lunch at Lovely’s Fifty-Fifty, sunny summer afternoon at the dog park, dinner at Mio Sushi, cheap movie at McMenamins. Who’s taking me out on a date?
