Little Old Lady in Bologna
I was born on the hills of Reggio Emilia. I travel to Tuscany almost every year, and now I live and work in Bologna. I love this city.

Finding time to travel.
It’s one of the biggest cities of Italy and home to the oldest university of Europe. It’s cold in winter and very hot in summer. Bologna is a city full of open air and vintage markets, museums, bicycles and nightlife.
A perfect day would be waking up, having a breakfast of cappuccino and croissant at Caffé Zamboni under Bologna’s two towers, going for a walk in our botanical garden, having lunch at Osteria dell’Orsa, shopping in Via d’Azeglio and Via dell’Indipendenza, and then having dinner at L’Ortica followed by dancing at Cassero.
Weather, access to nature, food, wine and art.
The Italian crisis. The problems our country is having with its economy have changed everyone’s lives.
The graffiti art. In Italy, Bologna is famous because there is graffiti on every shop’s penstock.
An old lady. This comparison is not mine; it’s a quote from a popular Italian folk song by Francesco Guccini. Bologna is like a little old lady because it’s a city with a very ancient history. It’s home to the oldest university in the world, and it has a well-preserved historical center that’s one of the largest in Italy.
