The Edge of Los Angeles in Long Beach
Long Beach is such an amazing place, and for me the ocean is the biggest draw. One of the best things we have in our city is the Naples canals that filter in from the ocean. They’re lined with million dollar homes. There are even gondola rides.

Long Beach is one of the most diverse and beautiful beach cities in America. It’s filled with amazing beaches, canals, restaurants, architecture, views, and people. It sits on the southern-most edge of Los Angeles just before Orange County, which is a perfect place to enjoy the best of both counties.
The perfect day would start with a surf, which can only happen in Long Beach on certain big winter swells since our break wall blocks out most of the waves. After surfing, it’s breakfast at Pandor Bakery & Cafe on 2nd Street in Belmont Shore for coffee and cronuts. From there head over to the bay to lay out, swim, paddle board through the Naples canals, and most likely drink something delicious. I’d end the day at one of the many great restaurants in Long Beach, from Belmont Shore to Downtown.
