Can you sum up the place you live? Magical.
What is a perfect day in San Luis Obispo? Waking up and heading to a yoga or barre class at my favorite studio, eating breakfast at Sally Loo’s Café, spending the day at Montaña de Oro with my husband and dog, a coffee/tea pit stop at Scout Coffee, a quick hike up South Hills to take in the view of the city, a home-cooked dinner at home with friends, and catching a film at the Palm Theatre, the Fremont Theatre, or the local drive-in.
If San Luis Obispo was a person or character who would it be and why? Ryan Gosling because he’s just the best.
How long have you been using Instagram? I think I signed up the first week it launched!
Do you shoot with your phone or other cameras or both? Most all of my images on Instagram are taken with my iPhone (unless I state otherwise). I shoot with a Canon 5d Mark III when I’m on the job.
What is your editing process? I use VSCO to add a filter on my images and then use Afterlight to make minor adjustments like brightness, contrast, temperature, etc.
Do you create images outside of Instagram? Most definitely! I’m a photographer. 🙂
Has Instagram/phoneography affected how you shoot? I think learning to shoot well in the square format for Instagram has changed and broadened the way I think about composing my shots when I’m shooting with my Canon. So I guess you can say yes, it has affected the way I shoot!
Can you give a couple tips to aspiring Instagram photographers? Keep it simple when shooting, develop your voice and style (there is always room for growth and change with this), and be personal and authentic.
