Adrift is a love letter to the fog of the San Francisco Bay area. Filmmaker Simon Christen spent two years chasing the perfect weather conditions for this film. He developed a system for trying to guess when to drive 45 minutes to the Marin Headlands from his home in Oakland. If it looked good he would set his alarm for 5am, check the webcams, and set off to capture the ‘magical interaction between the soft mist, the ridges of the California coast and the iconic Golden Gate Bridge.

The music for the film is a custom score from Jimmy LaValle of The Album leaf.
