Assemblée Nationale in Paris, France
Outside the Assemblée Nationale metro on a rainy day, just a short walk along the Seine away from the Musée D’Orsay.
Place you live: Paris, France
Place your postcard is designed for: Paris, France
Can you sum up Paris? It’s just like in the films but a bit smellier.
Occupation: Illustrator.
Preoccupation: 70’s cinema. And all the other cinema too.
A perfect day in Paris? Doing lots of wandering around looking at beautiful things in the day, then doing lots of sitting down drinking beer in the evening.
If someone was visiting, what must they do? Apart from the beauty of the city itself the museums are probably the greatest thing about Paris, some of my favourites are: the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature (a surreal and beautifully curated collection of hunting and wildlife oddities), the Rodin Museum, the Musée D’Orsay, the Halle Saint Pierre (a great folk art museum)and the Galerie de Paléontologie et d’Anatomie Comparée (where you can see skeletons of every animal from tiny birds to a Wooly Mammoth).
A perfect meal in Paris? A picnic in the Jardin du Luxembourg, can’t go wrong with that.
What is the best thing about the place you live? I love turning a street corner and happening upon some great market I never knew existed. Also there are a LOT of cinemas.
And the worst? It’s expensive.
A little known fact about where you live? Contrary to their reputation the people are mostly friendly (just don’t tell them I told you).
Where is your favorite place in the world? Still looking for it.
Who are your three favorite designers/illustrators? Raymond Biesinger, Ping Zhu, Bjorn Rune Lie
