Can you sum up Akiachak? Akiachak is a village located in Southwest Alaska. It’s one of the last places that human and nature are still very close. People’s main food sources are hunting, fishing and berry picking. Many of them still make traditional parkas, hats, glovess and boots with the animal hides from their  hunted. Here there is no shopping mall, theater, nor a restaurant. But it has two small stores and  very beautiful natural surroundings.

If someone was visiting, what must they do? Bring sleeping bags, food and warm clothes.

A perfect meal in Akiachak? Hot soup with fresh vegetables.

What is the best thing about your spot? You can walk, drive, ski and ice fish on the frozen Kuskokwim River in winter.

What is the worst? Your closest restaurant and hospital is a plane ride away.

A little known fact about where you live? Its rural.
