Can you sum up Indianapolis? The Crossroads of America. Indianapolis is a great city with a big city, small town feel to it. Indianapolis is a very artsy city. This city held Super Bowl XLVI and is known as the “racing capital of the world” or just “Indy.” If you’re from Indiana you’re considered a Hoosier. Over 10,000 acres of Indianapolis are taken up by its nearly 200 city parks, including Eagle Park, the sixth largest municipal park in the country. I like to travel south of Indianapolis where you’ll find many backroads with scenic drives and Midwest beauty. I’m a nature freak, more like a modern day pioneer. I don’t go into the city much. I find beauty in nature, friends, and life itself. Indiana is a great state to photograph; whether you’re into nature or the city, it’s got a lot to offer.
What is a perfect day in Indianapolis? For the city folk, grabbing a coffee from Mo’Joe’s Coffeehouse and walking around the city is always awesome. For the nature folk I suggest heading to Brown County State Park, Turkey Run, or Eagle Creek for a nice hike and views.
If Indianapolis was a person or character who would it be and why? Indiana would be a college student with art talents and social studies smarts who is free minded.
How long have you been using Instagram? Almost three years.
Do you shoot with your phone or other cameras or both? I shoot with my Canon Rebel t3, iPhone 5 and just recently iPhone 6s.
What is your editing process? I use VSCO and sometimes Adobe Photoshop.
Has Instagram/phoneography affected how you shoot? Oh yes, I used to take pictures based on the square crop Instagram has but since their most recent update I shoot with a little more freedom.
Can you give a couple tips to aspiring Instagram photographers? Stay humble and get involved. Go to instameets to connect with other photographers and build relationships.
Who are your three favorite Instagrammers? Joe Greer, Kevin Russ, Theron Humphrey
