Can you sum up Austin? Vibrant, active, health-conscious community of tech-savvy, entrepreneurs and free spirits.
What is a perfect day in Austin? Wake up at dawn. Paddle board the Colorado River with a good friend. Eat breakfast tacos and drink great coffee. Make some beautiful, thought-provoking art, nap in a hammock at Zilker Park, get refreshed in Barton Springs, head home to get creative in the kitchen with my lady with the veggies we just bought at the farmer’s market, get cozy on the couch and watch a documentary on how amazing the universe is, fall into a deep sleep and dream vivid sweet.
If Austin was a person or character who would it be and why? My city would be Captain Planet. He’s an outdoorsy, fun-loving, environmentalist, blue flying hippy.
How long have you been using Instagram? Almost five years
Do you shoot with your phone or other cameras or both? Both
What is your editing process? I use mostly VSCO. I love the F2 filter at 8 opacity. I usually bump the sharpening to 2, the contrast to 1, and the temp to 1.
Has Instagram/phoneography affected how you shoot? It is valuable to me as a professional photographer to have a creative outlet where I can just have fun.
Can you give a couple tips to aspiring Instagram photographers? Be yourself. You are not defined by your likes or followers. Be spontaneous. Travel as much as possible. Look for soft light. Think about clean, simple composition and framing. Tell a good story. Share the love.
