Holkham Beach in Holkham Beach, UK
We live in a small village on the edge of Norfolk Broads in Norfolk East Anglia UK. My brother lives near Norwich and we fell in love with the place a little bit more each time we visited. 15 years in London and the birth of a little girl meant it was time for a new start.
Because it is so flat in Norfolk. (according to Google we are exactly on Sea Level) You can see for miles, consequently you get the most amazing sunsets, like something from the African Savannah.
There are also a lot of windmills around here too, so you can mentally move to Holland anytime you get the urge to be somewhere else.
Place you live: Acle, Norfolk, UK
Place your photo was taken: Holkham Beach: This is where they filmed the end scene of Shakespeare in Love. Hard to capture on camera, the tide is out there somewhere.

A perfect day in Acle? A lie-in (one day), Blunch (that is a cross between Brunch and Lunch) a full length Scooby Doo cartoon and then Strumpshaw Steam Museum is pretty hard to beat for a good old fashioned ‘British Yesteryear nostalgic Experience.’ Its where all the cool kids go in Norfolk.
For the visitor: Hire a rowing boat on Rollesby Broad, or have a pint of Adnams Broadside Beer at the Bridge Inn in Acle.
A perfect meal: Dim Sum at Baby Buddha or this brilliant Japanese place that does ‘all you can eat’ nights on Monday and Tuesday (next to the cathedral), both in Norwich. We also do a pretty mean BBQ at home for those 2 weeks of the year when the sun shines.
A little known fact about Acle? Hundreds of oaks were felled in this area for timber to construct Elizabeth 1’s war ships.
