Growing up in Tofino you get to experience nature first hand. Orcas swim through the harbour all the time and bear hang out in your backyard. I photographed this Orca while on a shoot for the Pacific Yellowfin in Desolation Sound, BC. We were in a small tender and were following the whales along the shore that were in shadow. When the whales were in the light, it made for some very dramatic images. I was really pleased when it all came together.

Can you sum up the place you live? Tofino is at the end of a long road on the West Coast of Vancouver Island, surrounded by incredible beaches and old growth forest.
