Love Letter to LA in Los Angeles, California, USA
This film was basically a love letter to the city of Los Angeles and to skateboarding. I’d been wanting to make something that combined my affection for both and this approach felt like the right fit. I think anyone from Los Angeles can relate to watching the city unfold before you from your car and I wanted to capture that feeling the best I could while including some amazing skateboarding.
Place you live: Los Angeles, CA

Can you sum up your spot in LA? As far as I’m concerned, I live in the best part of the city. I live in the Silver Lake/Los Feliz overlap. The surrounding cluster of neighborhoods that make up the north-east portion of LA are all within 5-10 minutes and I love those neighborhoods because of the people, the history, the geography and the architecture are all so varied.

What is a perfect day in LA? A day in late March, just after a rain storm where there are huge puffy clouds, the sky is the deepest blue, it’s 70 degrees and the city is green with plant-life.
If someone was visiting, what must they do? Rent a car and get in touch with someone who can point you in the right direction as far as your interests are concerned. This city can be intimidating and hard to navigate for visitors which often leaves people disappointed with their visit.
A perfect meal in LA? That’s a question that’s nearly impossible to answer, there are too many perfect meals in LA. But if I have to choose just one, I think the best informal mexican food in the city can be found at Yuca’s (they have 2 locations in the Los Feliz neighborhood).
What is the best thing about your spot? The best thing about Los Angeles is the overall diversity. There’s so much of it crammed into one city.
What is the worst? The smog and stereotypes about the city from the media.
A little known fact about where you live? The original Walt Disney studios were located just down the street from me in the heart of the neighborhood. A grocery store now occupies the lot.
Where is your favorite place in the world? Copenhagen, Denmark
Who are your three of your favorite filmmakers? John Hughes, Stanley Kubrick and many more.
