Macklemore in Seattle, Washington, USA
It was a big year for Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. They’ve become a household name. The world is just starting to hear their music, but to the people of Seattle, they’ve been hometown heroes for years. Since their album, The Heist dropped in November of ’12, it’s become an international sensation. Songs like Thrift Shop, Same Love, and Can’t Hold Us were on every radio station. They won several MTV VMA’s, and four Grammys. Night after night since the album dropped, they have been performing in sold out venues across the globe. Their fame increasing exponentially along the way. On December 10th, 11th, and 12th, they performed three sold out shows in Seattle and that’s where these photos were taken. They’re photos from the last stop on an international whirlwind tour. Their hometown is what made them, it was only right they ended the tour where they started. And it was epic.

Seattle’s not very big. But it’s not small either. It’s just the right size where it’s big enough to have a lot of really amazing things going on, but small enough that it still feels like a tight knit community. Everybody supports each other in following their dreams. And it rains a lot.
A perfect day would be waking up calling up some friends and going to Saigon Deli for Banh Mi’s. It has to be perfect summer weather, hot, but not too hot w/ a cool breeze. Would catch a movie in Columbia City, eat some ice cream at Full Tilt, skate from Capitol Hill to Chinatown for boba, and then catch a show at Showbox.
Everybody knows each other.
Everybody knows each other.
Our summers are the best. They’re perfect. It’s like a prize for those who can make it through the 9 months of rain.
Bulbasaur? Wet but lots of fun!
