Somewhere Else in London, UK
This photo was taken down the road and round the corner from where I live on the way out of London. I live quite far east but still in the heart of Hackney, London Town. I wanted to share this photo as the thing I enjoy the most about photographing my environment is making it look like somewhere else! A bit of a contradiction for this website perhaps. Having said that, London is full of a diversity of architecture and buildings of different eras, beautifully packed full of history some definitely lacking both. I love London because of the mixture of everything from the people to the urban landscape. I enjoy searching for photogenic landscapes, buildings and people within my familiar surroundings and further afield across the UK.

The perfect day in London? If I’m not out photographing, it would be a stroll through London Fields on a warm sunny day, a swim in the Lido, a BBQ with friends in the park followed by drinks in a local pub. I never want to visit tourist attractions when in a new place, I prefer soaking up the atmosphere and enjoying a day as the locals do.
For the visitor? If someone comes to visit East London I would suggest they go to a few shops and galleries in Shoreditch and take a stroll along Brick Lane, pop into a cosy pub or two. Broadway Market on a Saturday, Columbia Road Flower Market on a Sunday.
A perfect meal in London? Buen Ayre, (Argentinian Steak restaurant on Broadway Market) or Tayabs (amazing Indian restaurant in Whitechapel).
Locals Tip: Get a bike and cycle around.
A little known fact: It doesn’t rain everyday in London.
Your favorite place in the world? The British coast on a hot day.
