The Familiar in Örebro, Sweden
This is just beside the house, its a small piece of the world, yet the view is always changing with various weather conditions and the time of day. I’ve seen this view more times than no other, still it’s never tiring and I think by returning often I’ve learned to appreciate the beauty in sights that are familiar.
Place you live: Brooklyn, New York
Place your photo was taken: The photo was taken in the garden of my childhood home in Örebro, Sweden, a place I often return to for photographs and vacation. The house is just outside the city, yet very secluded and surrounded by fields, forests and with a stream running by.
Can you sum up the place you live in a short paragraph? Brooklyn is like a much bigger version of my hometown, they’re both friendly, easy to bike around and I have a lot of friends close by.

What is a perfect day in Sweden? In Örebro the best thing is to bike around. A perfect day would be biking to the nature reserves in the east or west and go for a walk or swim, there are lakes and rivers in both direction, then coming home at night, have a barbecue in someones garden, drink a glass of wine and talk all night with friends or family.
If someone was visiting, what must they do? Go to my favorite café – Fröken Brogrens, that is just by the train-station.
A perfect meal? Breakfast in my dad’s kitchen in the summer, with newly picked raspberries, yogurt and fresh honey from the beekeeper who works in the backyard.
What is the best thing about your spot? It’s close to nature and close to the town at the same time.
What is the worst? It’s really far away from the US.
A little known fact about where you live? This is probably a well known fact, but we have a water tower in the shape of a big mushroom and there’s a castle in the city center that has been there since the 14th century.
Where is your favorite place in the world? Abisko National Park in the north of Sweden.
