The Other Side of the Water in Mount Tamalpais, and some other points on the lovely Cali Coast
The Bay area in general is pretty unique. It’s an hour from some of the most beautiful and mysterious seaside towns and mountains I’ve ever seen. And some of Earth’s oldest organisms stay firmly planted with their big red roots along our roads. I’m new to this neighborhood, so still find it quite fantastic. Which brings me to why we shot my latest music video for Typhoon here. I had a pretty ethereal story to tell, and needed earth to be in solid cooperation. Which ruled out lovely Oregon that time of year. So California it was. I think the fantastical backdrop for Typhoon’s “Young Fathers” video will be how I always perceive this part of the world. Wide-eyed and excited to play amidst what nature’s got to offer.

Dancing, jump kicking, hopping across puddles much too big for my feet to leap, climbing things, jumping off of stuff, selling stocks and bonds, frolicking with my babe…
A 2 square mile city with all the things a fella could ask for: movie theaters, food, trains, pond, and across the water from a very expensive and rainbow friendly city that techies are invading by the droves. The food rules round these parts, and we have Bolinas just a stones throw away.
Waking up and making a smoothie, doing some work in the sun, going for a run, driving to some ocean for a skinny dip, getting ice cream, throwing stuff, making dinner, going to a movie, dancing, making out, being tired, falling asleep. That’s my perfect day in many places.
