Watching Trees in Seattle, Washington, USA
The photos I’ve selected are from walks in my neighborhood of Capitol Hill in Seattle. Within a mile from my house are Volunteer Park, Interlaken Park and the Washington Park Arboretum. These densely forested portals into nature provide me with a temporary escape from civilization. More importantly, they are a reminder of what’s just beyond the city in the true wilderness.

Sleeping outside and climbing on rocks.
In the distance, in every direction, I see mountains, water and so many trees.
Wake up and notice the dense fog outside; run down to Interlaken Park and back up to Lake View Cemetery; say hello to Bruce Lee and the crows; oxtail pho at Monsoon and coffee across the street at Fuel; bike down to Seattle Bouldering Project for a few hours of climbing; dinner at Tsukushinbo in the International District and a cup of #124 at Remedy Teas on 15th Ave E.

Seattle is three hours from ancient rainforests, the Pacific Ocean, a Bavarian-themed town and world-class climbing destination, glaciated volcanoes, Channeled Scablands and Canada.
