#WestSussex by Mike Kus in Chichester, UK

Advancements in technology, along with new social platforms, have enabled people who had never considered themselves photographers to become masters of the craft. Mike Kus is a great example. Before Instagram he had an interest in taking photos, but no camera. The iPhone and Instagram app gave him the tools he needed to take and share photos. And beautiful photos they are! Place you live? Chichester, West Sussex, UK

Place your Instagrams were taken? Chichester, West Sussex, UK

What is Chichester all about? Chichester is a small and Historical Cathedral City on the south coast of England. It’s about 50 miles South of London and 30 miles West of Brighton.

What is a perfect day in your spot? There are a bunch of beautiful harbor villages near Chichester that are great spots to take the family and shoot a few pictures.

If your city was a person who would it be? Probably the late astronomer, Patrick Moore.

How long have you been using Instagram? Since October 6th, 2010.

Do you shoot with your phone or other cameras? I shoot with an iPhone 4 and 5.

What is your editing process? I use the built-in Apple camera to shoot. I then adjust contrast and saturation using an app called TiltShiftGenerator before publishing on Instagram.

Do you create images outside of Instagram? Sometimes. I also post a few photos over on mikekus.exposure.so

Has Instagram/phoneography affected how you shoot? Only in that it’s ‘made me shoot’. Before Instagram I had an interest in taking photos but didn’t have a camera. The combination of an iPhone and Instagram gave me the tools I needed to take and share pictures.

Can you give a tip to aspiring Instagram photographers? I guess, just be yourself and shoot what you see.

Who are your three favorite Instagrammers? @janbaedeker, @chrisconnolly, @misspainterly
