Zakrzówek in Cracow, Poland
Zakrzówek is located in the center of Cracow, about 4 km from the Main Square. On a warm summer day it is one of the most beautiful places in Cracow. Wildlife and nature in the city center. Not many tourists know about this place. It’s a water reservoir with a depth of approximately 32m, formed in 1990 as a result of flooding the old limestone quarry. At the bottom lies a lot of sunken objects such as a bus, a couple of cars, motor boats, mirrors, locker room and a house. Cracovians say that this is the place for suicides. They say that when a person disappears they may be found at the bottom of the reservoir. The shores of the reservoir are one of the favorite places of recreation for young people in Cracow, but swimming in the lagoon is prohibited.
